About the Boston Rally (June 27, 2020)
When and where is the rally?
The March Like a Mother for Black Lives Boston rally will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 12PM to 2PM in front of Trinity Church Boston, 206 Clarendon Street at Copley Square.
How can I get there? Is there parking?
The event is accessible via public transportation (MBTA subway and buses) and limited street parking is available. The closest T-stop is Copley (Green Line). There are also public parking garages in the surrounding area; rates and availability vary.
Get oriented with the day by checking out our custom Google Map.
What is this rally all about?
All mothers were summoned when George Floyd’s last words were “mama.” Now, Black mothers summon all mothers to stand in solidarity against anti-blackness and racism. We believe all mothers have a duty to intervene for the healthy, safety, and prosperity of their children.
We will center the voices and experiences of black mothers while inviting all mothers who stand for black lives, black joy, and black prosperity. View our confirmed speakers here.
March Like a Mother for Black Lives focuses on four key policy areas: Public Safety Reform, Health, Education, and Economic Justice — as each directly influences the trajectory of Black lives, from birth through adulthood.
Your event is called “March Like A Mother.” Will we be marching?
Actually, no — there is no march. We are tired, busy mamas, so we’re going to roost, reflect, and rally. This is a stationary rally at Copley Square.
Who can attend? Can kids come? I’m a dad; can I come, too?
Our event is centered around Black mothers and is open to any person who believes in the value of Black lives and the safety and protection of Black bodies — not just moms.
This will be a family-friendly, kid-safe event: if you are comfortable bringing your children, they are more than welcome to come.
Let us know you’re coming by registering online via Eventbrite. (Don’t worry, the event is FREE.)
